JOHN LINNEV, Full Gospel Tabernacle) Two men were under an oak 'tree one day, one of them lying on his back on the ground. They were talking about God in whom one believed and the other did not. The latter said "Look at this big tree, full of silly little acorns, while a vine that creeps on the ground 'urs a great big pumpkin. I would have made it tu.;t the other way." As he spoke, an acorn dropped from the tree and the sharp end of It struck the eye of the sneaker causing him some pain. While he was exclaiming over It, his friend quietly said: "What If that had been a pumpkin?" The faltfinder had no answer ta give. The only real answer is this: "And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, It was very good." (Gen. 1:31). One of the most important things ln life Is, not where we stand but in what direction we are going. The believer -walks with God and at the end of n geon says: "The blows of the flail of tribulation are not given in sport but In real earnest." The Lord tries the very life of our faith not its beauty and its strength alone but Its very existence. The iron enters into the soul; or the man's real self Is made to endure the trial. The trial of our faith worketh experience, and experience hope. Alfliction is useful in that we discover how much faith we have in God. It is good to know that there is a limit to affliction. It Is forj the moment. It has Its appoint -J ed period. Not always will the ! seas be tempestuous. God weighs ! and measures, and soon there is life's way will be transported a calm. It is good to know that into HLs presence. Heaven's best there Is a coronation after al ls being prepared for those who lliction. It is the prelude to an serve God's Son here in this life , eternal weight cf glory. There and share with Him the- shame of the Cross. As the Christian contemplates where he will spend eternity there is joy and peace are notes and thords in our very song which never could have been 'there if "I had not discovered in my trouble the grace overflowing in his soul, and (ieepj of the Father, the wypathy of in his heart he says: "Thank the Son and the power of the God for such a Saviour. My sins are blotted out I know." There are many unbelievers who sincerely desire to become believers. Others may have honestly taken their stand and failed and have become discour Holy Ghost."
