Darrow Gomez cf this city is among 110 Army and ex-Army recipients of awards for meritorious war service who have been Invited to an investiture to be held at Government House in Victoria on July 1 by the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, Hon. Charles A. Banks. The decoration Gomez Is to receive is the Distinguished Conduct Medal for valorous service in Italy during World War II. LUXURY YACHT VISITS PORT W. E. Boeing, head of the Boeing Aircraft Co. Seattle, in the city today aboard the pleasure yacht Taconlte on which he and his party are cruising the north coast. The Taconlte docked at the C.N.R. wharf at 10 o'clock this morn ing. The Taconlte is skippered by Capt. P. A. Mclntyre, who formerly was with Canadian National Steamships and is well known in Prince Rupert from which he operated for years. The vessel is registered at Vancouver, where it is owned by a company. It is 116 feet long, 24-foot beam and 158 registered tons.
