Phones 116 and 117 FUEL AND BUILDING MATERIALS Local Chamber of Commerce to Visit Terrace January 17 At least four and possibly half a dozen members of the Prince Rupert Ohamlber of Commerce will visit Terrace on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Terrace and District Board of Trade, it was intimated at the annual meeting of the local chamber last night. Providing a sufficient number of local members indicated their Intention of going there for the meeting, the Terrace Board offered to change the date of its annual meeting from January 15 to January 17. The local members will proceed from here by way freight leaving on the Friday morning and will return home by way freight or regular passenger train next Friday. PIONEER HOME HEAD LAUDED Tribute to the work of S. B. Calder, Pioneers' Home superintendent, wais paid by Mayor Nora Arnold last night when council considered his resignation from the post which he has held for several years. Mr; Calder plans to leave the city .in May to reside at Burns Lake. "We have been lucky to keep Mr. Calder as long as we have," Mayor Arnold said. "IIe has toe en an excellent superintendent under very poor conditions." Mr. Calder's resignation was referred by council to the health committee which will seek to find a successor.
