glad
that
a
trip
to
town

childhood

matter
of
being
hurriedly
putted
up
one
side
of
the
street,

the
other,
and
then
rush
home.
Instead,

was
a
slow,
wonderful
process
of
a
whole
day.
It
was
three
days
really;
for
the
day
before,
you
knew

was
your
turn
to
go

town
..tomorrow;
and
the
day
after,
you
lived

the
glow
of
it
all,
lingering
especially
over
the
Ice-cream
cone
which
outshone
a
thousand
times
the

freezer

yellow
goodness
that
was
Sunday's
dessert.

day
dawned
early

before
long,
we
were
away.

winter,
