L Taylor, mill manager of one of New Zealand's largest woollen mills, after an intensive study of recent developments abroad, Syn thetic fibres have a definite 1 place of their own, he considers, but will not replace w;ol for some t'imc. The chief threat to wool is the abnoimally high ' world price which may force j people to use leas suitable synthetics. "In my opinion the sreatest field for artificial fibres lies in the replacement of cotton rather than woollen materials," he said.
