IS MARRIED IN ALBERTA IVIiss Margaret icGuire Becomes Bride of Walter Langmuir The wedding of Miss; Margaret McOuire, formerly of Prince Rupert, to Walter Langmuir of Rimbey, Alberta; took place December 27 .at the home of the bride's parents in Donnelly, Alberta, with Rev. It. Pritchard of the United Church of Peace River, Alberta, officiating. The bride was' attired in a rosewood dressmaKer suit with brown accessories - and- wore a corsage or wnite carnauons. Mrs. Mollie Avery of Darwell, Alberta, attended her sister in a -dress of brown, and fawn with matching accessories and wore a corsage of talisman roses. Robert Langmuif, brother of the groom was groomsman. After the wedding supper the happy couple left on the evening's train to spend a short honeymoon in Edmonton, Al-herta. before proceeding to Rimbey, Alberta, where they will iQ future reside. Among the out-of-town guests were Mrs. Molly Avery, Darwell, Alberta, Miss Vera. McQulre, prince Rupert, Robert Langmuir, and Tom Langmuir of Rimbey, Alberta. The bride formerly resided in Prince Rupert, her father having been employed at the dry clock, and was oh the local telephone exchange staff until De -cember 15 last when she left the city. Her sister, Nancy, is still with the telephone office here. Mrs. H. S. Parker will sail .on the Princess Norah tonight on a business trip to Vancouver and elsewhere in the south. C. A. Berner, divisional superintendent, Canadian National Railways, leaves on this evening's train for one of his periodical trips over the line as far as Jasper Park on official inspection duties. NEW YEAR AT CIVIC CENTRE Five Hundred Persons Attended Frolic Tuesday Night The New Year was ushered In at the Civic Centre Tuesday night when a crowd of some 500 people attended the Big frolic. Highlight event of the evening came a few minutes before the stroke of midnight and the ad vent of 1947 when hundreds of balloons, which had been suspended from the ceiling of the auditorium, were released. There was great enthusiasm as the New Year was ushered in-with noise-making, Joining of hands and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." Hats and noisemakers added to the effectiveness of the celebration. Neil Ross acted as master of ceremonies and music was toy the Esquires. Refreshments were served buffet style. Little It was a long way from the shops of Scotland to an import ant executive position in this" country but the man whose loss was mourned had accomplished this and thereby proven himself d rkilful workman and a competent executive, said Rev. A. F. MacSwe'en in paying tribute from his "pulpit yesterday after noon at the funeral service for the late J. J. Little, vice-president and general manager of the Northern British Columbia Power Co. Mr. MacSween also referred to the important part that Mr. little had paid in vari ous phases of community and social life.' The large congregation comprising leaders in civic and business life, his staff and employees, his Masonic brethren, comrades of the First Great War and citizens at large was fitting testimonial to his worth and the esteem in which deceased was held. The church was filled to capacity, Masons, Rotarians, Canadian Legion me.oets and Nor thern British Columbia Power Co. employees attending in groups. Mrs. E. J. Smith presided at the organ andhymhs were "Unto the Hllls'-and "Abide With Me." (Following the service, a long concourse proceeded .to Fairview Cemetery where interment was made in the Masonic plot with rites of Tsitripseafs Lodge led by Robert Cameron, worshipful master.
