Associates Samuel Painter, roadmaster's clerk for tha Canadian National hallways in Prince Rupert since 1933, retired cn pension at the close of business yesterday, hav-ln? reached the retirement ajs . on that date. Mr. Painter entered the service of the CJJ.R. as a trainman at Siourf Lookout Jn 1915 and later, due to injury, transferred to clerical service there. He moved to Smlthers in 19C8 where he remained until 1933 when he came to Prince Rupert. On tfo? eve cr his retirement Mr. Painter was presented with a purse of gold by his fellow workers as a mark of th? esteem jn which he has been held throughout tihe years. Mrs Painter aLo was presented with a lovely purse.
