(101) PIONEER BARBER HERE RETIRING Today, after 59 years of toar-bering, Horace Duhamel turned his shop over, to Jack Guthrie, Eut today Horace isn't going to hang up his while smock and shelve his shears forever, that important ceremony will ccme after Jack secures the services of another barber. Horace Duhamel Ibegan his shearing and shaving career at Kamloops in 1888. He saw Rupert for the first time in 1912 but Hazelton claimed him frcm 1913 to 1919. Durir.c the latter year he returned to this city and within 12 months bad a business of Ms own. When the Capitol Theatre was completed Horace moved into the shop and he is new aoout to vacate. Horace, who will be 73 on May 14, is hoping his birthday present will be a "Merry Oldsmo-bile." Horace's many friends will be glad to know he plans to remain in Prince Rupert.
