Van der Sluys on his first day as new president of the Prince Rupert Rotary Club. He presided at the club's weekly luncheon meeting. In addition to committee appointments, Mr. Van de Sluys welcomed tiiree new members into the club. They were, E. I. Coughlln, Bill Scuby and S. J. Mellor. Visit of the boats of the Tac-oma-Juneau cruiser race, provided occasion for the presence of three mayors at the meeting. They were Mayor Nora E. Arnold of Prince ' Rupert, Mayor George Muir of Nanal'mo and Mayor Wallis Hall, of Ridgefield, Washington. Capt. George Ross of Seattle cruiser Nika, described briefly experiences on his trip between Tacoma and Prince Rupert. Other guests welcomed at the meeting were Taylor McLeod, Vancouver; Capt. C. R.
