Several other young men of the village were guests. Shortly, Metlakatla will be assuming the responsibilities and privileges of local corporate automomy as the first enfranchised native village in Canada. ' That makes it all 'the more fitting and timely that the Junior Chamber of Commerce should be taking this lead in cementing friendliness and co-operation between this city and our budding new municipal neighbor. No doubt, much valuable mutual hebfulness may ensue. As a first move, the Prince Rupert Junior Chamber may be able to assist in the organizing of the young men of Metlakatla. . In the meantime, this gesture of mutual accept police channels, much unpleasantness could have been avoided. As it was, the delay occurred and my report of the incident reached you first. My source of information seemed, at the time, to be infallible, so 1 can make no apologies for it. I was not even thinking of the local police when I wrote it, rather of the complaints of other people who did nothing more than cmplain. Re the investigation in Terrace at least one other case of hooliganism, hoodlumism o r rowdiness (they all mean the same) could have been mentioned. Prince Rupert will be full of visitors this summer. Naturally they will observeand observation is followed with comment. Now not months away is the time to begin making the best of what in here.
