PORPOISE IS NETTED Free Steaks For The Asink on Saturday Anyone who has a hankering for porpoise meat might have had a good-sized roast for the asking if they had been at the Atlin fish docks Saturday. The playful mammal got himself tangled in a fisherman's net and had to be shot so was brought into port as a curiosity. Most people who live along the coast have seen porpoise in their natural environment but it is seldom that one is seen on dry land. The one displayed at the fish docks is relatively small, being approximately 4V2 feet long. In appearance, and to the touch, its body is similar to hard rubber. The tail which drives the porpoise through the water at amazing speeds is small compared to the rest of the body and it must wiggle at a terrfiic rate when the little mammal has the urge to go somewhere in a hurry.
