Wilson from the fast ball commission and decided to alio the remaining two commissioners to select his replacement. They also will choose a new chairman. A good deal of discussion centred on the question of umpires for the league. It was decided that the home team be respon sible for the plate umpire and the visiting team for the base j umpire at each game. The two j umpires will reverse their po-1 sltlons at the end of 41'2 Innings. Umpht-8 who are playing members of a team other than the teams concerned may also be used, If necessary. However, anyone used as an umpire must have the approval of a general meeting of the as- soclation. Following a review of last year's season, it was moved that the meeting go on recora as expressing Its appreciation of Miss Margaret SUnn, Nell Ross and Don Forward of the Civic Centre staff in helping to make the 1947 season a highly successful one.
