Development and use of terminal facilities at Prince Rupert might veil be expected to tie up with that railway project since the port of Prince Rupert is only 96 miles from Terrace whereas Vancouver, via the Canadian National line, is well over 1000 miles. At the same time Kitimat is only 80 miles or so from Prince Rupert by the coastal route while it is 400 miles from Vancouver. So it is difficult to comprehend, by any stretch of imagination, how Vancouver instead of Prince Rupert is going to be the port for Kitimat although, of course, some railway officials, particularly those in comfortable residence there, might like to make it Vancouver. The justification of the whole big terminal development of Canadian National Railways at Vancouver may be considered by some to be superfluous but that certainly cannot be said of Prince Rupert. However, we may derive some encouragement ;tnd confidence from the fact that a more favorable attitude towards Prince Rupert has been developing among some top railway officials as they view the f ."."ffl !.V"nn!e"1. sr.c"!", of sulphur lor delivery hew its rom Kincolith are conducting a lmlsl nave been when he mm. tw.i HSfe. it. . to continue to withhold li- '?ded in a huge manufacturing revival this week-end at Green- ered that his soeech had betray- ttnitng of Japanese vessels in plant.
