The outcome is far from clear,?
for the Social Credit government
has deliberately made confusion
worse confounded by refusing to
give the public the means to
judge the serious allegations
against one of its own ex-min-
isters according to the well-tried
and often tested methods which
have always previously been used
by:all governments of all: parties
wherever. the. British system of
democracy. prevails,

But one thing is clear. The
Liberal: party,.under Mr. Arthur
Laing, has fought.a good, hard,
but clean fight.

Mr, Laing offers to the electors
of B.C. a non-socialist alterna-
tive -to the Social Credit govern-
ment, which has-held office since
1952, “He. stresses the: positive
side of the Liberal program and
nidderately. states ‘exactly what
the‘Liberals will do, if given the
chance by the voters, —..°*-

His main points are restoration
of honest bookkeeping arid the
rediction’ of the sales tax. from
