Joscph never stopped trying to live up to God’s demands, He never stopped trying either, to make himself a more able ser- vant or leader. In Potiphar's household he so quickly master- ed all things that soon he was put at the head of all the slaves. In real greatness there is a restless energy to be more perfect. The command of Jesus, “Be ye therefore perfect,” is a phrase which will always urge Christians on to a finer char- acter, The measure of Joseph's de- veloping bigness of spirit can be clearly seen. The treatment which he received from his brothers would have soured a man with a lesser sense of pur- pose and a narrower,Spirit. If he had turned against the whole human race we would have said “Oh well, that is only natural.” Again after being put in pris- on through false accusation of Potiphar’s wife, he had .turned bitter toward women, we would likely say he was justified. But there was in him too great a spiritual excellence, too great a seeking after nobility, to have that happen. When put in pris- on, instead of retreating into bitterness, he kept his interest in how the other prisoners were. getting along. He noticed the strange look on the face of the butler and, baker the morning after they had had their dreams, This kind of genuine interest in other people is a magic medicine : for the lifting of the human soul and making it big. ‘Try Daily News Classified RATION | Welcome ewe ew off .
