Wall CO-OP HAS ANNUAL MEETING Government Asked to Issue More Fish Trap Licences No The Prince Rupert Fishermen's Co-operative Association's annual general meeting was held ln the C. C. F. Hall last Monday. President F. Keith opened the meeting at 10:30 a.m. It was attended by practically every member of the Co-operative In the vi cinity of Prince Rupert. Gustav Normann was elected as chairman, and opened the meeting.' After the routine business of the reading and disposing of the minutes of the last annual general meeting, the reports of the dlrec-l tors and manager were presented to the meeting. There were three new directors elected Gustav Normann, H. Hansen, J. Petersen, and one director, M. Haapale was re-elected. The auditors elected for forthcoming year were W. D. Vance and M. Anderson. After some discussion, two recommendations to the Fisheries Department, were endorsed: 1. That In view of the fact that there are no fish traps allowed to operate in the State of Washington,! the Fisheries Department be approached to discontinue the Issuance of fish trap licences ln the Province of British Columbia. 2. That the Department of Fish-cries be approached to amend the Fisheries Act, to the effect that it will be illegal to expose for sale any Spring salmon less than twenty- six Inches In length, the same as In ! effect in Alaska. ! It was unanimously decided to have a special general meeting in the spring, before the fishing season commences, to discuss the problems relative to the season's activities. The meeting gave the Board of; Directors the power to purchase! packers for the forthcoming sea-j son. It was agreed that the Co-operative should have some distinguishing mark or sign on the members boats, whereby boats travelling and fishing in areas serviced by other Co-operatives could be easily Identified. The members Instructed the board of directors to approach the North Island Co-operative, with the view to affiliation of the two organizations and closer co-operation between them.
