Her first impression of Prince Rupert was, apparently, very pleasing to her. Sgt. Gomez was also called forward and received congratulations from His Excellency. The Governor-General, during his drive around the city with the mayor, expressed keen interest in the history of the place. He also was Intrigued with such things as the native trees, the names of which he was anxious to know. The brief drive took In Acropolis Hill from which the panorama of the city was viewed and around Westview.
