Oldest Man Dies PATRIARCH OF PORT SIMPSON Joseph Bradley Passes Away at Age of 97 Years Port Simpson's oldest native and a well known link with the , colorful past of the ancient neighboring village passed away last week when death claimed Joseph Bradley at the ripe age of ninety-seven years. He was well known and esteemed not only In his own village but among the natives all along the coast. Joseph Bradley, during whosw long span of life the native people emerged from their aboriginal heathenism to the mode of Christian civilization, took a leading part in public affairs including advocacy of the right of the native people particularly in regard to the land question. A. , a young man he helped to lay the foundations of IJort Simpson as its stands today. He was for years a member of the village council. He was also active In the affairs of the United Church. Grace United Ch'rrcn was crowded1 for the funeral. Deceased is survived by his aged widow as well as one son, Henry Bradley of Prince Rupert, and a daughter, Mrs. Matilda Talt of Port Simpson. DR.
